Natural cleaning products that actually work
If you are anything like me, you are trying to get away from the harsh chemicals found in numerous household items. They are literally in everything. I have found that a lot people are wanting to switch to natural cleans, like me, but they are fearful that the products won’t truly get their house clean and germ-free.
This is a common and valid worry when you have spent your entire life using hard chemicals designed to kill germs and destroy any sign of dirt from your home. The truth is that most conventional cleaners are harsh and can even be harmful to your family. So harsh in fact that if used improperly you could be harmed by these same products. Read the labels, you might be surprised at the dangers in your very own kitchen.
I tested several natural cleaners to share with you and come to find out, a few of the natural cleaning products actually work.
Mrs. Meyers
Mrs. Meyers cleaners use plant-based ingredients to help clean your home and leave behind a pleasant fragrance. Some people are skeptical of these cleaners and how well they can work. A few we have seen in action doing an amazing job include the glass cleaner that can leave a streak-free shine. The baking soda cream cleaners are perfect for getting out stains in your porous surfaces and removing stuck on grime from enameled surfaces. It even works to get into the tiny groves of stainless steel. The vinegar gel cleaners work amazingly for buffing surfaces, bringing your glass stove top to a perfect shine and removing all evidence of dirt and fingerprints from your favorite stainless-steel appliances. Which I know I’m not the only one with smudged fingerprints everywhere!
Aunt Fannie’s
Aunt Fannie’s vinegar cleaners give you all of the cleaning power of vinegar while hiding the harsh fragrance that can leave you wishing you had stuck with your old cleaners. Her line even carries a spray that can help deal with ants in your kitchen while keeping your family safe from toxic chemicals. This often is used to deal with these small yet persistent pests.
Seventh Generation
One brand I often hear questions about is Seventh Generation. They offer natural disinfectants that leave people wondering if they really work. The truth is these products where heavily researched and contain natural ingredients that have been scientifically proven to kill germs. While I did not personally do a test of bacteria on the surfaces we can confidently say that the wipes did clean our surfaces and presumably removed the germs they claim to. Especially the ones I used in our bathroom! (and the smell is amazing for the garden mint wipes!)
Method
I’ve recently tested some of the products from Method and have found them to be simply awesome! So many products to choose from but the one I think I like the best so far is the hand soap, especially the Coconut Water scented one. Cleans without an overpowering smell, leaves no residue on my hands, and removes oils and stickiness without issue. Another great product that I really enjoy from Grove.
This isn’t a very long list but I can assure you that I have tried all of the products listed. Each one has some benefit, I really liked some of the fragrances, and I’m pleased with the results.
If you have any naturals cleaners you would like to share, please let me know. I’m always willing to learn more about the products I use in my home.
In His Grace,
Callie
